The radiant panel is designed to be able to determine fire behaviour, analyse flame spread and measure surface flammability in floor coverings (EN ISO 9239-1), building products (ASTM E162) and cellular plastics (ASTM D3675), by using a radiant heat panel.
The test result is an index that is determined from the flame spread and heat evolution factors. This index is required in several specifications, especially for the public transport industry (buses and trains).
The equipment consists of a test area in which the sample is placed. It also includes a radiant panel, a sample holder, a pilot burner, a fume extraction system and a control station associated with a measurement system.
