The single Burning Item SBI equipment exposes the samples to be tested to thermal exposure of a single burning object and their reaction to fire is evaluated.
It's used to evaluate the specific optical density of smoke generated by mostly flat materials exposed to a radiant heat source.
The behavioural parameters to be analysed are heat emission, smoke production, lateral flame spread, droplets and inflamed particles. They are registered manually through visual observations of the test.
